30 Minute  Guided Tour of Hampton Plantation
This is a quiet and serene state historical site, but in the 18th and 19th centuries it was a working rice plantation, bustling with activity.  Park interpreters tell us the plantation system that shaped the lives of Hampton's residents.  The Georgian-styled mansion (ca 1750), is an architectural monument to the labor of enslaved Africans and the social prominence of the Horry, Pickney and Rutledge families.
