This adventure takes you to the city of Conway, SC which was established in 1730. The rich history of this area of Horry County can be experienced and enjoyed in many ways on our day trip.
Explore L.W. Paul Living History Farm
Larry Paul constructed the Farm House to depict farm and domestic life in Horry County from 1900 - 1955. Visitors to the Farm will have the opportunity to sample the everyday life of an Horry County farm family living during this era. Plowing with mules, making lye soap, grinding grits, blacksmithing, curing meat, preserving vegetables, milking cows and harvesting crops are only a few activities the Farm plans to offer.
Enjoy a Boat Tour along the Waccamaw River
(approximately 1 hour tour)
Your Adventure begins at The Conway Marina. Slip quietly through the black water of the scenic Waccamaw River. Witness the beauty of stately old cypress trees, Spanish moss and the historic Conway Riverfront. Enjoy a relaxing and personable narrated tour from Captain Jim. Travel back in time and listen to stories about life on the Waccamaw in the 19th century, steamboats, river men, and historic southern river homes. Learn about an abundance of native wildlife such as the alligator, black bear, cottonmouth water moccasin, osprey, wood duck and a variety of fish species.
